Are all 4000 and 8000 Series NVRs keyed alike?

Yes, 95% of all 4000 Series and all of the 8000 Series recorders use the same “silver” key (stamped J101) to lock and power the units using their silver locks.

Only a few 1st generation 4000 series used a “black” key and had a black lock which are not compatible with the new silver keys.
